The Arab Parliament condemned on Wednesday the Houthi militia's religious tax calling it "an unacceptable act of systematic racism."
In a statement, the parliament emphasized the need for the legitimate Yemeni government to "draft a legislation against racism in all its forms."
Earlier this month, the radical theocratic militia controlling northwest Yemen enacted a legislation that provides for levying Al-Khumus, a 20% tax in that, in the militia's perverted version of Islam, should go to the Houthi clan on the merit of their decent from prophet Mohammed.
The parliament renewed its support for the struggle of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi's government to restore the hijacked state from the militia and preserve Yemen's security and territorial integrity.
The parliament called for united efforts to restore the state back to Aden and Socotra, secure the interests of the Yemeni people, and counter the threat of Houthi terrorism.
