Foreign Minister Mohamed Al-Hadhrami participated in the extraordinary session of the Arab League Foreign Ministers held through visual communication technology at the invitation of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to discuss developments of the situation in Libya, and developments regarding the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.

During the first part of the meeting, the Arab foreign ministers discussed the latest developments of the situation in Libya. In the second part of the meeting, the ministers listened to briefing by the Egyptian Foreign Minister about the latest developments related to the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam and the results of the recent rounds of negotiations to reach an agreement on the rules of filling and running the Dam.

The decisions adopted confirmed the rejection of any action or procedure that affects the rights of all parties in the waters of the Nile, and that the water security of both the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Sudan is an integral part of the Arab national security, as well as stressing the necessity that all parties refrain from taking any unilateral measures, including Ethiopia's refusal to start filling the Renaissance Dam reservoir without reaching an agreement with the downstream countries.

With regard to the situation in Libya, the Council’s decision affirmed the unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity, stability, and welfare of the Libyan people.
