Yemeni political parties condemn STC for takeover state's institutions in Socotra
[21/06/2020 01:43]

ADEN - SABA
The Yemeni political parties and constituencies have strongly condemned the so-called Southern Transitional Council (STC) for the violent actions its armed groups carried out in the archipelagos of Socotra, using weapons to take control over the state's institutions in Hudibu, the central city of the governorate.

Fifteen of the Yemeni political parties and organizations issued joint statement Sunday learned by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) in which they condemned the violent acts and military escalations by the STC, held the STC leadership accountable for the recent insurgency's events in Socotra.

The statement reads" The Yemeni political parties and constituencies followed the regretful events the governorate of Socotra archipelagos have seen in the wake of the violent actions carried out by militiamen affiliate to the so-called STC in the Island and the takeover the state's institutions by using weapons".

The political parties called on the President of the Republic to take practical steps to bring things into the right path and stop the ongoing disorder and chaos in the city of Aden and Socotra governorate.

The political parties called on the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the sponsor of Riyadh Agreement and the leader of Arab Coalition in support of legality in Yemen to act firmly against the recurrent violations of the STC and stand by the legitimate Yemeni government and enabling it to restore the official institutions in the interim capital Aden.

The Yemeni political parties welcomed the propositions suggested by Saudi Arabia to put Riyadh Agreement into its effects.
