[18/06/2020 03:01]

SAYOON - SABA
A presidential panel and leaders of the Yemeni eastern province of Hadhramout addressed the problem of clamping down on assassinations. Last month terror elements killed security police chief Saleh Jaber and his escorts in district of Shibam in the government-held province.

The panel including officials from the intelligence agencies and tribal leaders discussed ways of boosting the role of security forces in clamping down on the assassinations and other crimes.

The tribal leaders raised the demands for ending security irregularities, revitalizing police stations across the province, ensuring regular payments for soldiers, equipping security officers with arms and doing all it takes to improve security. They also demanded that young people from their communities be enlisted in the security apparatus.

The head of the panel Ahmed al-Mosai affirmed the political leadership's interest in the security issues and promising that "Hadhramout of today won't be like the Hadhramout of the past" in terms of security control.
