The Vice President of the WB for Middle East and North Africa Freed Blhaj and the Executive Director of the WB Mirza Hassan, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Najeeb al-Aweg contributed to the discussions.
The discussions focused on the partnership between the Yemeni government and WB and the WB's support for countering coronavirus pandemic.
The Prime Minister praised the WB's initiative to support the Response to Coronavirus with $31 million.
Dr. Ma'een cited the challenges the Yemeni economy has been facing, particularly the impacts of the ongoing war triggered by Houthi militia and the subsequent implications on the national economy and national currency exchange rate.
The President of the WB stated that the WB is keen to work with the Yemeni government and it is going to urge the donors to support Yemen in different fields.
