Vice President Ali Mohsen Saleh discussed Monday with Charge D'Affairs of UK Embassy in Yemen Simon Smart latest developments in Yemen and mutual relations between the two countries.
The meeting dealt with efforts exerted for implementing Riyadh Agreement and realizing permanent peace in Yemen to have a chance for focusing efforts on facing corona pandemic.
Vice President pointed to government positive dealing with the call made by the UN Secretary General and his envoy to Yemen on ceasefire amid Houthi militia's continuous stubbornness and firing rockets to cities and neighborhoods bordering Saudi Arabia and continuous violations against Yemeni people.
He welcomed the call made by UK Ambassador to Yemen Michal Aron for allowing to UN experts to arrive to the long stranded Safir Oil Tanker on Ra's Isa Port in Hodeida after reports on possible explosion of the tanker, which will cause huge environment catastrophe over leaking crude oil from the ship.
For his part, the UK diplomat touched upon a number of topics led by keenness of his country on realizing peace in Yemen, reconfirming UK support to legality, security and stability of Yemen.
