Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Braik arrived Wednesday in the Emirati capital Abu Dhabi on an official visit in response to an invitation from the leadership of the sisterly United Arab Emirates.

Yemen commander: we won't allow for militias, paramilitary units to be formed

A Yemeni military commander leading one of the divisions of the Yemeni military, the First Military Region, said his division "won't allow for militias or "paramilitary units outside the regular military to be formed" in Wadi and Sahra Hadhramout in eastern Yemen.
Chairing an meeting for the Region, Maj. Gen. Saleh Taymas said, "we are in constant contact with the leadership of the local authority to preserve the state institutions and perform our constitutional duty."
He said the Region has worked to spare Hadhramout any conflicts and will stay the course.
