Information Minister Muammar Al-Eryani called on the International Criminal Court to investigate into Houthi crimes against women detainees in the rebel militia's areas of control and to bring the abusers to trial for "these war crimes".
Thousands of women are being arbitrarily detained by the militia and many of them are subjected to inhumane treatment including rape and electric shocks.
In a statement to Saba, Al-Eryani called on the international community and women advocacy groups to intervene to stop these violations and put pressure on the militia to release all the abductees in their jails in Sana'a and elsewhere.
