Info. Minister calls on the UN to act to fulfill prisoner-exchange deal

Minister of Information Muamer al-Iryani called for overall prisoner-exchange between the government and Houthi militia per Sweden Agreement and out of fearsome of the outbreak of coronavirus, covid-19.

In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) al-Iryani said" We do call on the UN and the special envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths to immediately move to ramp up pressure upon Houthi militia to make progress on the humane dosser of prisoner-exchange by releasing all prisoners and abductees on the basis of ( all for all).

Al-Iryani re-stated that the government is ready to put immediately the recent understandings of Jordan about prisoner-exchange into effect. The deal includes a joint list of (1100) names out of (1420) their names were exchanged, and to hold a meeting to discuss the situation of the remaining prisoners in accordance with Sweden Agreement, as this is a humane issue.
