Prime Minister receives US Ambassador to Yemen

Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik received on Thursday the Ambassador of the United Stated of America to Yemen Christopher Henzel.

The session aimed to discuss aspects of cooperation and coordination about some issues of common concern and further boost cooperation in different fields.

They also discussed the UN-led efforts to make peace in Yemen and the Yemeni legitimate government's constructive response to the call by the UN Secretary General to establish truce.

The Prime Minister stated that the Houthi militia's continuous escalation in different fronts are inconsistent with the calls for truce and peace efforts and serve the Iranian spoiler scheme.

Ma'een re-welcomed the UN Secretary General's call and the UN' s envoy's to sit-down together immediately to discuss a crease-fire to devote efforts to control coronavirus.

" The government is very keen to establish sustainable peace that is based on the three terms of reference above all the UNSCR2216", said Ma'een.

The American Ambassador affirmed the US support the appeals launched by the UN Secretary General for truce, reiterating the American support for the Yemeni government in different spheres.
