Govt panel extends closure of entry ports for two weeks over covid-19 fears

Yemen's national panel in charge of countering the possible outbreak of coronavirus extended today the closure of the country's ports of entry for two weeks over continuing fears of the plague.
In a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Maeeb Abdulmalik, the panel approved a number of precautionary measures to confront the plague including the extension of the ports closure starting from April 1 2020.
The meeting reviewed a report from the Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Nasser Ba`oum, on the measures that his ministry had taken to equip the entry ports with means of rapid diagnosis for coronavirus, and the preparation of quarantine centers in the different governorates.
In turn, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation pointed out that the government represented by the ministries of planning and health had wrapped up discussions over an intervention project to confront the disease.
