Spealer of Parliament Sultan al-Brakani received on Thursday a phone call from the British Minister of State for Middle East and North Africa Jamese Cleverly.

The telephone conversation dealt with the situations in Yemen and the underway efforts aiming to make peace and putting an end of the conflict triggered by Iran-allied Houthi rebel militia's coup in 2014.

Al-Brakani briefed Cleverly on the efforts have been made by the political leadership headed by President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi to allay the Yemeni peoples' suffering, normalize the situations, reinstate basic services and acheive peace.

The Speaker of Parliament informed the British Minister about the violations the Houthi militiamen have been committing against the civilians and the illegal verdicts of execution issued by the militia against the Yemeni MPs and politicians.

Al-Brakani pointed out to the risks threatening Yemen's unity and the region's security due to Iran's interferences.

He stated that Iranian spoiler scheme has been key factor for prolonging the conflict, worsening the humanitarian crisis and obstructing peace efforts.

He reiterated the Parliament's support for peace that is based on the three terms of reference and the efforts have been made by the UN's Special envoy Martin Griffiths to reach a political solution that ensures Yemen's security, stability and unity.

For his part the British Minister expressed the UK's support for the legitimate government, security, stability and territorial intgerity of Yemen.

Cleverly also tressed on the importance of supporting the UN's envoy's efforts to end the conflict and acheive a comprehensive reconcilliation.
