RIYADH - SABA
The Arab Coalition backing Yemen's government against Houthis destroyed on Tuesday morning two new explosive boats the Iran –backed terror group prepared to carry out an attack south of the Red Sea.
The coalition's spokesman Lt. Col. Turki al-Maliki said the terror militia had prepared the bomb-laden and remotely controlled boats in Hodeidah province. "Destruction was incurred on the two boats which posed a threat to … the security of international shipping lanes at the Bab al-Mandeb Straits."
Al-Maliki said the militia use Hodeidah as a place for launching their ballistic missiles, unmanned drones, explosive boats and naval landmines. Since the Stockholm Agreement (between the government and Houthis) in December 2018, the coalition has destroyed 46 Houthi explosive boats and 153 naval mines.
Al-Maliki renewed the commitment of the coalition to neutralize and destroy the capabilities of the terrorist militia which are putting the regional and international security at jeopardy.
