A female Yemeni activist has appealed for the international community to take action to save Yemeni women from Houthi abuses in in different parts of the country.
Fandah al-Ammari the Director of the Department of Women Development in Marib said in a meeting with local CSOs the
Houthis have caused killed, injured and displaced thousands of women since the rebel militia's coup in September 2014. The militants, in their areas of control, continue to arbitrarily detain and disappear women and commit other abuses against them.
She called on the international community to intervene to follow up on the disappeared, end the abuses and secure their release.
