Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Braik arrived Wednesday in the Emirati capital Abu Dhabi on an official visit in response to an invitation from the leadership of the sisterly United Arab Emirates.

PM receives the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General to Yemen

Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik received here on Friday the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General to Yemen Martin Griffiths.
The session intended to discuss the constant military escalation by Houthi rebel militia in several fronts, the militia's atrocities and violations against the civilians, namely in Aljawf governorate.
The UN's underway efforts and International good offices aiming to de-escalate the conflict and explore the political process were also discussed.
The militia's refusal to implement the Stockholm Agreement, its recurrent breaches of the truce and banning dealing with national currency bankenotes were touched upon as well.
The Prime Minister reiterated the government's full suport for the efforts have been made by the UN's envoy in order to make the political process successful and establish the sustainable and comperhensive peace that is based on the three terms of reference.
For his part, Mr Griffiths touched upon the underway efforts to de-escalate the military escalation in the flashpoints of the different fronts.
He also reaffirmed that he is very keen to reach a political solution that can put an end of the Yemeni peoples' suffering.
