Prime Minister Ma'een Abdulmalik discussed Tuesday with Russian Ambassador to Yemen Vladimir Dedushkin relations between the two countries and latest developments in Yemen, including Houthi continuous escalation and defying UN efforts for realizing peace.
The meeting tackled government's accomplishments in implementing its commitments regarding Saudi- sponsored Riyadh Agreement, international support for implementing the agreement and supporting government's efforts for normalizing conditions and improving services in liberated provinces.
He confirmed that Houthi militia's escalation and targeting civilians reflect their rejection to peace and submission to political solution in accordance with the three internationally-agreed upon references.
For his part, the Russian Diplomat renewed his country's support to Yemen and its legal leadership and helping it out of the current crisis, hoping that the initial agreement of releasing prisoners would contribute in opening new chances for peace.
He pointed out that prolonging the crisis complicates the settlement and badly affecting humanitarian situation.
