Yemen seeks Estonia's role in SC for helping solve crisis

Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad al-Hadhrami met Saturday on the sidelines of Munich Security Conference with Estonian Counterpart Urmas Reinsalu.

The two ministers discussed situations in Yemen and a role for Estonia- via its membership in the Security Council- to help finding a solution to Yemen's crisis.

Al-Hadhrami pointed to SC's consensus on Yemen and that all member states support the internationally acknowledged government, a mater must be reflected on finding a solution to the crisis in the country.

Confirming the government's willingness on reaching to a political solution, he pointed out to Houthis' negative approach and their continuous military escalation and rejection of realizing peace.

The Security Council has to take care of the topic of Safir Oil Tank, which has become a timely bomb warning of an environment problem could last for decades if the swimming tank on the Red Sea explodes.

He held Houthi militia accountable on using this issue as a political paper.

For his part, the Estonian official said that his country- as non-permanent member in the UN Security Council- is keen on helping find a solution to Yemen's crisis and will work during its membership term on realizing this end.
