First air flight from Sana'a airport arrives in Amman carrying out 30 patients
[03/02/2020 07:08]

AMMAN-SABA
The first air flights allocated to carry out the sick people from Sana'a airport to Egypt and Jordan for medication arrived Monday in the Jordanian capital Amman, carrying out 30 patients.

The air flight operated in coordination with the World Health Organization (WHO).

A joint statement by the Office of the UN's envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths, the UN Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs Lise Grande and the Representative of the WHO in Yemen Eltaf Mosani said the air flight carried out the first group of the sick people along with their companions. Another group of patients are set to travel in the second air flight, followed by more sick people who need to travel abroad for medical treatment.

The statement noted that these air flights are organized and facilitated by the UN to help the sick people in Yemen who can't travel through other Yemeni airports.

It happened that the Arab Coalition in support of legality in Yemen announced a week ago about launching air flights to carry out the sick people from Sana'a airport to Egypt and Jordan to receive the necessary medication.

The Spokesperson of the Arab Coalition Col. Turki al-Maliki stated that " this Initiative came within the humanitarian and relief efforts aiming to help the Yemeni people and allay the suffering of the ill-peoples who have to travel abroad for medication".
