The Government of Canada has renewed support to internationally recognized government in Yemen and its support to efforts of the UN envoy to Yemen for ending the war and reaching to sustainable peace solution in accordance with the three basic references.
The three references or the internationally agreed upon reference for peace in Yemen are the GCC Initiative, the Outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the UN Resolution 2216.
In a meeting for the Arab Ambassadors Council in Ottawa on Friday and presided over by Yemen's Ambassador to Yemen Jamal al-Sallal and the Parliamentary Secretary for Canadian Foreign Ministry, Rob Olivant, the council and the Canadian foreign ministry's leaders discussed mutual relations and improving them in different domains.
The council praised Canadian positions towards Yemen, Syrian and Palestinian issue, supporting peace, combatting terrorism and contribution in efforts of keeping the international peace stable.
The Canadian officials confirmed their country's willingness for improving and boosting relations with Arab countries for serving joint interests.
