Fatah: Houthi militia impounds, seizes 440 relief trucks in 2019

Minister of Local Administration—Chair of High Relief Committee—Abduraqeeb Fatah said Houthi putshist militia has impounded and looted 440 relief trucks since the arrival of the international monitors on December 23, 2018 after reaching Stockholm Agreement until the end of December 2019.

These trucks loaded food and medicines aids, medical stuffs and fuels for the hospitals in different Yemeni governorates.

In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) Fatah added that Houthi militiamen snatched 600 million Yemeni Rials (YR) from the World Health Organization allocated to Polio Vaccines and seized medical aids assigned to Polio to sell them to private-owned hospitals, collecting big amounts of money.

The Minister noted that the rebel militia prevented 12o workers from access to the Red Sea Silos of the World Food Program (WFP) where 51 thousand tons of food aids stored, enough to feed as many as three million and 700 thousand people. As a result, large quantity of those aids spoiled.

He added that the militiamen also detained 20 workers of the French Organization for Technical Cooperation and Development (ACTED), prevented them from carrying out the planned projects in Hajjah governorate.
