The Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction in Yemen (SPDRY) launched the project of rehabilitating Aden International Airport.
The Deputy Minister of Transport Nasser Asharif, Secretary General of Local Council in Aden governorate, Deputy Minister of Public Works and Highway Eng. Hussein Aqrabi, Commander of Arab Coalition Forces in Aden Brigadier Mujahid al-Auteibi and Director of the Projects Department in the SPDARY Eng. Hassan al-Attas laid down the foundation stone of the project on Thursday.
A firefighting vehicle and two buses and power-generator were also delivered to the airport administration.
The Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Metrology Captain Saleh bin Noheid highly praised the efforts have been made by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to support Yemen in different fields.
For his part Eng. Al-Attash stated that the KSA is interested in supporting economy and development in Yemen in seven spheres.
He noted that the SPDRY was established per instructions of the Custodian of the Two Holly Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman with the aim of supporting the Yemeni government to speed up the development drive, improve infrastructure and basic services as well as reconstruction.
