The Ministry of Education condemned the killing of a school teacher in the Houthi-held capital Sana'a on Thursday.
Escorted by bodyguards, influential figure Naser Jubran al-Fakih stormed the High School and assaulted Faysal al-Raymi, a teacher in the school, for allegedly beating his son, a student in the school the day before. While the teacher confirmed reprimanding but denied beating the naughty student, al-Fakih and his bodyguards continued beating the teacher with planks and rifle butts until he died.
"The aggression against teacher al-Raymi is only a case-in-point in how the conditions of schools and teachers are in Sana'a since the Iran-backed terrorist militia of Houthis seized the capital Sana'a on September 21st, 2014," read the Ministry's statement.
The ministry said the militia has been, for several years, stealing the public salaries and UN amounts donated to public teachers to alleviate their suffering, storming schools and beating female teachers and students in Beidha province and changing school textbooks to infuse them with sectarian and terrorist content.
