Speaker of the Yemeni Parliament Sultan al-Barakani and a Russian parliamentary delegtion discussed today the bilateral cooperation between the legislatures of Russia and Yemen.
In a meeting with the Russian delegation participating in the 12th Plenary of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly being held in the Turkish city of Antalya Monday, al-Barakani briefed the Russian parliamentarians on the hardship Yemen has been going as a result of the Houthi military coup in September 2014 and defiant rejection of the UN Security Council resolutions regarding the Yemeni crisis in particular resolution no. 2216 (2015).
He said the Houthi militia are "furthermore looting humanitarian aid" arriving in Yemen which worsens the situations in Yemen.
He, however, appreciated the Russian support to Yemen's legitimate government led by President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
