Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik has stressed the importance of activating the actions of monitoring institutions so that they can effectively contribute to promoting the rule of accountability, controlling corruption.
His remarks came as he presided over a high-profile meeting on Tuesday in the interim capital Aden brought together leaderships of Finance Ministry, Central Organization for Auditing and Controlling (COCA), High National Anti-Corruption Commission, General Prosecution and the two authorities of customs and taxes.
Dr. Ma'een underscored the importance of joining efforts and effective coordination to boost public resources revenues, fight corruption and bring wrongdoers to justice sooner not later.
The discussions touched upon the challenges facing the monitoring authorities and the deficiencies and financial and administrative irregularities the customs and taxes authorities have been suffering from.
The Prime Minister gave instructions to set-up field committee from the monitoring, customs and security authorities to pay field visits to marine and land exists to inspect actions and monitor the procedures of collecting the revenues.
