The Executive Director of Demining Center Brigadier Qaed Heitham Holbood stated that Iran-allied Houthi militia's coup triggered a war touched upon several Yemeni governorates, left large swathes of the Yemeni territories including towns, villages, roads, public facilities, water sources and agricultural areasinfested with anti-individual, anti-vehicles and UXOs.

His statement came as he delivered a speech on Thursday during the 4th Evaluating Conference of Ottawa Treaty, the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention held in Oslo, Norway.

Holboob cited a host of challenges facing the Executive Demining Center including large swaths of lands affected with landmines, the continuation of the war, limited resources and large number of the victims in different parts of the country, besides that IDPs remain unable to return to their own origin regions due to Houthi militia laid landmines everywhere.
