FM meets with Britain's Deputy Ambassador to Yemen
[28/11/2019 01:28]

RIYADH-SABA
Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hadrami met Thursday with the Deputy Chief of British diplomatic mission in our country Simon Smart.

The session intended to discuss the developments of the situations in Yemen and the government's efforts to implement Riyadh Agreement as well as the latest developments about the UN-led peace efforts.

Al-Hadrami stated that is important to implement the Swede Agreement, particularly the articles pertaining to Hodeidah agreement prior moving forward to any new consultations.

He has made it clear that the unjustified escalations by the Houthi militia in Adorymi, Mokha and assaulting the government's team in Hodeidah undermine the tireless efforts of UN envoy and foil the peace process.

Al-Hadrami blamed Iran-allied Houthi militia for prolonging the Yemeni peoples suffering." refusing to open Sana'a airport for national flights and hindering the UN humanitarian actions are clearly showing that the militia pays no attention to the Yemeni's ordeal, said al-Hadrami.

The Foreign Minister underscored the need for pressuring the militia leadership to allow the UN's team access to Safer oil tank to conduct the urgently needed maintenance to prevent a potential environmental disaster.

The British diplomat reiterated his country's support for the Yemeni government and the UN's envoy Martin Griffiths, adding that the UK will continue to contribute to the humanitarian efforts.
