King Salman renews KSA's constant commitment to supporting Yemen

King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has renewed the commitment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to supporting Yemen and realizing peace and security in the country.
Addressing a meeting of the Saudi Shura Council here today, the King said KSA would "continue its efforts in supporting the Yemeni people and supporting the efforts of the UN Special Envoy as he seeks to broker a political solution to the Yemeni crisis."
He said the support aims to preserve the unity and independence of Yemen and to revitalize state business of Yemen's state institutions.
He noted that KSA had exerted enormous efforts on the political and humanitarian levels as well as developmental level through the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen.
He said the Kingdom supported the Yemeni economy directly by financial deposits to stabilize the exchange rate of the Yemeni national currency, the Riyal.
He also cited the Saudi brokerage of the Riyadh Agreement that brings the government and the Southern Transitional Council into a joint understanding that may open the door for wider understanding and broader political solutions for the country's crisis.
