The chief of the Yemeni diplomatic mission to the EU Muhammad Mustafa has raised the issue Houthi-maintained jeopardization of an environmental catastrophe in the Red Sea in a meeting with Fernando Gentilini, the Managing Director for Middle East and North Africa at the European External Action Service.
An oil tanker, belonging to Yemen's biggest oil company Safer, has been stranded in the waters for years without maintenance since 2015 and the Houthi rebels have been adamant in denying UN experts access to it. Now the oil-loaded tanker is like a floating bomb threatening to explode at any time and cause a phenomenal environmental damage in the Red Sea.
