Yemen has affirmed that the Iran-backed Houthi militia poses a direct threat to regional peace and security and to international navigation, saying the group is a tool used to undermine Yemen’s sovereignty and stability, disrupt basic services, and obstruct the delivery of humanitarian assistance to those in need.

Yemen's Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hadhrami has emphasized the need for an international pressure on the Houthis to keep their hands off of humanitarian aid supply and secure a safe passage of aid to the entitled in the areas under the insurgent militia's control.

In a meeting with the UN Humanitarian Coordinator Lisa Grande here today, al-Hadhrami said the UN should also have measures in place to verify Houthis are committed to this.

He said the government has been taking alleviating measure but encountering Houthi disruptions; the government has permitted 10 vessels laden with fuel to discharge their load in Houthi-held port of Hodeidah , but the rebels continue to prevent their offload unless the importer merchants pay customs duties to them.
