Human Rights Minister Mohamed Askar met with Andrea Prasow, the deputy Washington director at Human Rights Watch on Monday.
They reviewed the human rights situation in Yemen, the current humanitarian situation resulting from the Houthi coup of September 21, 2014, and the continued atrocities and abuses by the Houthi militia.
Askar emphasized on the severity of Houthi abuses in terms of bombing houses of oppositionists, destroying public and private facilities, recruiting child fighters, violating the rights of women, abducting and killing intellectuals, and planting mines that have claimed hundreds of civilian casualties across Yemen.
