Yemen's Information Minister said the theocratic reign (Imamite) that lasted in Yemen for centuries before Yemeni republicans revolted on 26th September 1962 was behind the Yemeni nation's backwardness.
Addressing a seminar on the 5th anniversary of the Revolution day in Riyadh on Thursday, Muammar al-Eryani said, " 26th September marked an uprising not just against a theocratic rule and enslavement system, but it was a revolution against a long history characterized by the values of backwardness."
The minister warned that the country's unity is now on in a serious jeopardy after the terrorist movement of Houthi (theocrats) appeared its head."
