Yemen, New Zealand discuss STC's rebellion
[03/09/2019 02:55]
RIYADH-SABA
Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad al-Hadhrami discussed Tuesday with New Zealand Ambassador to Yemen latest developments, including UAE-backed Transitional Council's armed rebellion against government and UAE aggressive shelling against the national army.

Al-Hadhrami made it clear that the government supports efforts of the UN envoy to Yemen for implementing Stockholm Agreement, pointing out that Houthi militia's stubbornness on implementing the agreement is the real block hindered the implementation.

He added that the government deals frankly and seriously-via its team in the UN Coordinating Redeployment Committee for implementing the agreement, especially Hodeida Agreement before going to any forthcoming consultations.

He pointed out to government's attempts to avoid confrontations with the TC and called for not supplying any illegal military units with weapons and funds for keeping the transitional capital of Aden secure.

He explained that the UAE blatant attack against Yemeni armed forces in Aden and Abyan is clear breach to international law and contradicts the goal of the Arab Coalition for supporting legality in Yemen.

He demanded clear denouncement from the international community and serious position towards UAE's role within the coalition.

For his part, the New Zealandish diplomat confirmed his country's position supporting the internationally-recognized government, returning to the interim capital of Aden and reaching to inclusive solution to Yemeni crisis via UN-brokered peace process.
