Deputy FM receives letter of credit from WFP's newly appointed representative

Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammad al-Hadhrami received today the credentials of the newly appointed representative of the World Food Program (WFP) in Yemen Laurent Bukera.

In a meeting they held here today, al-Hadhrami and Bukera discussed the existing cooperation between Yemen and the WFP and ways of enhancing it in light of the current humanitarian crisis caused by the Houthi militia's coup and war. Al-Hadhrami acclaimed the WFP's way of handling the humanitarian crisis in Yemen and its attempts trying to get rid of the pressures and extortions of the Houthi militia in the areas under their control.

He said the WFP's exposure of the militia's past abuse of aid and the retreat of the militia in the face of the WFP's stern measures is a wakeup call to the rest of the UN organizations to follow suit and counter the Houthi interferences and theft of aid.
