Dep. PM receives UN Secretary General Assistant for Development Affairs

Deputy Prime Minister Salem al-Khanbashi discussed Thursday with Assistant of the UN Secretary General for Development Affairs AchimShtyner implementing development programs in different humanitarian and service fields in Yemen.

During the meeting, al-khanbshi reviewed challenges facing the government for improving resources and service sectors, which include health, education, electricity and others in addition to activating the Supreme Committee for Elections in Aden.

The government has made quick solutions to economic issues in different domains via implementing the 100-Day Program and set up long-run annual action plans for improving services, tackling currency's price deterioration and made the first government's budget since the war in 2015, a matter imbedded the government to make investment program 2020 to approved by the Council of Minister on December this year, he said.

He confirmed that the government will provide all necessary facilitations to the UNDP's activities in Aden and other Yemeni provinces.

For his part, the UN official said that the program aims at expanding joint efforts with the government for recovering economy on the long run and will work within Sweden Agreement for ending the crisis in Yemen.

But he confirmed that the program will provide support to Yemen's recovery via implementing humanitarian, relief and development projects help in alleviating suffering caused by the war across Yemen.
