Deputy Minister of Health for Planning Affairs, Ahmad Al-Kamal signed a cooperation agreement with the Director General of the Communication Foundation for Human Development, Raed Ibrahim, to implement the a campaign for treating malnutrition among Yemeni children with Kuwaiti support.
The campaign is due to start soon and will take a full year. It will target 100,000 children in seven provinces.
The campaign, under the sponsorship of Kuwait's International Mercy Society and supervision of the Ministry of Health, will seek to treat acutely malnutritioned children below the age of five suffering in Hadhramout, Taiz, Aden, Lahj, Hodeidah, Sana'a and Dhamar provinces.
Dr. Kamal pointed out that the number of malnourished children has been steadily increasing over the past years as a result of the difficult situation that the country is going through.
