Twenty officers wrap up training on dangers of child soldier recruitments

The Ministry of Human Rights office in Marib, supported by the UNICEF, concluded on Thursday a course for educating 20 armed forces and military officers on the dangers of recruiting child soldiers.
The aim of the two-day course was to develop legal and cultural awareness among participants about the dangers of recruiting underage children into conflict. It also aimed to introduce to them the concepts of protection and rights in accordance with international and humanitarian laws and treaties.
The participants received extensive training on child rights concepts, child protection concepts, risks of child soldier recruitments, as well as methodologies to reduce child recruitments for participation in conflicts.
