Yemen participated in the conference of the Arab Atomic Energy Agency which opened here today at the headquarters of the Agency in Tunis.
The Ambassador of Yemen to Tunisia, Abdel Nasser Bahbib, stressed the importance of convening the conference in light of the delicate conditions experienced by the Arab region, which may negatively affect the activities and programs of the Agency.
He called for exerting efforts to ensure the success of the programs of the Agency and the rehabilitation and training of personnel working in the fields of atomic energy in the Arab world.
He appreciated the active roles played by the Agency in promoting sustainable development of Arab countries in the field of various peaceful uses of nuclear energy, including for the production of electricity, water desalination, nuclear medicine, nuclear technology, radiotherapy and the development of agricultural techniques.
