Minister of Human Rights Mohammad Askar discussed Wednesday with Senior Protection Specialist in UNICEF Abraham Chick steps and programs associated with implementing the treaty signed by the government of Yemen and the United Nations for ending child recruiting.
The meeting dealt with child right issues and violations children have been subjected to over Houthi militia war on Yemeni people. Askar confirmed government's keenness on cooperation with UNICEF for protecting childhood and working on translating treaties with the UN regarding children practically, pointing out that child violations have been increased recently.
For his part, the UNICEF official valued the ministry's efforts for protecting children, confirming the organization's keenness on implementing treaties protecting child soldiers and those affected by armed disputes and integrating them intosociety.
