Transport Minister inspects Aden Gulf Ports Corporation

Minister of Transportation Saleh al-Jabwani inspected on Monday activities of Aden Gulf Ports Corporation and challenges facing it.
He praised efforts have been exerted for regaining the role of the corporation and regaining activities of Aden Port after Houthi war on Aden in 2015.
He made it clear that talks are underway with a number of countries and insurance companies for providing equipment and capabilities needed for infrastructure of the port for providing better service and receiving giant ships.
He also talked about communications on reviving former agreements with a number of countries on improving Containers Port and reactivating Ship Basin Company.
Director of Aden Gulf Ports Corporation Mohammad Amzrih reviewed steps of the corporation's activities and challenges facing it since its liberation from Houthi militia, pointing to the role of the Ministry of Transportation on regulating the by-laws regarding shipping and unloading activities and other reforms including providing power generators.
He made it clear that the port has received during the first four months of this year 1.1 million ton of goods, including 100 thousand metric tons of aid comparing to 440 tons in 2018 and the port unloaded 4.4 million tons in the same year.
