Training course to media men on anti-corruption role held in Aden

A training course to media people on the media's role in fighting corruption has commenced in Aden under the motto "Partners in Fighting Corruption."

The course is organized by the Supreme National Authority for Combating Corruption in cooperation with Ministry of Information and Yemeni Journalist Syndicate.

Up to 36 journalists from different media outlets receive in two-day training a number of norms in combating corruption and spreading honesty and transparency values in the society.

Launching the course, the Head of the Anti-Corruption Committee Judge Afrahba-Duwailan praised the level of attendance, confirming significance of considering responsibility on fighting corruption and spreading honesty and transparency values among the society.

She pointed out that the aim of holding this course is spreading social awareness and discarding corruption by courageous word and pen as the most important weapon for fighting corruption.

She confirmed that media is strong and significant front as a means for communication with the society through its active tools helping in unearthing corruption and corrupt people.

She called for establishing an alliance between the authority and media men for fighting corruption and revealing corrupt people.

Deputy Minister of Information Hussein Ba-Salim said this course is a beginning for training program between the ministry and the national authority and an extension to awareness relation via different media outlets, noting to the significant role of media in showing social phenomena helping in spreading awareness contributing in spreading corruption and significance of fighting it by different means.

Meanwhile, the Head of Yemeni Journalist Syndicate in Aden Mahmoud Thabet talked about the importance of the course as boosting real partnership and correct norms for fighting corruption through media, cultural and awareness address to all people.
