Yemen participates in the Conference of Fighting Marine Crime and Protecting Submarine Cables in Indian Ocean- commenced its activities here on Monday- with a delegation headed by Commander of Coast Guard ForcesGeneral Khaled al-Qamali.
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) invited Yemen to participate in the conference.
The participants discuss in the two-day conference plans for protecting submarine cables and studying legal issues based on the UN general agreement on marine law.
On the sidelines of the conference, General al-Oamali discussed with commander of Sri Lankan coast guard forces and the Head of theUNODC cooperation and support to Yemeni coast guard forces in field of training and qualification.
