Yemen Says Houthi Militia Poses Direct Threat to Regional Peace, Condemns Attacks on Gulf Infrastructure
Yemen has affirmed that the Iran-backed Houthi militia poses a direct threat to regional peace and security and to international navigation, saying the group is a tool used to undermine Yemen’s sovereignty and stability, disrupt basic services, and obstruct the delivery of humanitarian assistance to those in need.

PM, EU's delegation discuss developments in Yemen

Prime Minister Ma'een Abdulmalik received on Monday the Head of the European Union's Delegation in Yemen Antonia Calvo and discussed with her political, economic and security developments.

Government's efforts of normalizing conditions in the liberated provinces and Saudi-led Coalition and European role in these efforts until regaining the state, ending the coup and implementing international resolutions, were also discussed.

The meeting touched upon humanitarian and right issues and Houthi militia's crimes against Yemeni people, as well as the role of the government in doubling relief for alleviating suffering of the Yemeni people and paying salaries of the employees in Houthi-held areas.

Prime Minister pointed to significance of the visits of ambassadors of the super powers to Aden recently for supporting the government normalizing conditions and finalizing efforts for regaining the state and ending the coup.

He also praised the European Union's role for supporting the government of President Abd-Rabbo Mansour Hadi and contributions for alleviating suffering of the Yemeni people over the war triggered by Iran-backed Houthi militia.

He confirmed government's keenness on realizing permanent and inclusive peace on the bases of the three references; the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the UN Resolution 2216.

He stressed necessity of implementing Stockholm Agreement sponsored by the UN and forcing Houthi militia to withdraw from the city of Hodeida and its ports soon as stipulated by redeployment plan, calling on the International Community to exert more pressure on Houthis who did not show seriousness on implementing the agreement after passing more than 100 days on declaring it.

He reviewed efforts of the government in taking quick steps for economic revival and the role of the EU for supporting this moves.

For her part, the Head of the EU Delegation expressed pleasure for meeting the Prime Minister and pointed to service and security improvement she saw in her third visit to Aden.

She reaffirmed support of the EU to the government of Yemen and keenness on realizing peace hoped by all Yemeni people.
