Yemen Says Houthi Militia Poses Direct Threat to Regional Peace, Condemns Attacks on Gulf Infrastructure
Yemen has affirmed that the Iran-backed Houthi militia poses a direct threat to regional peace and security and to international navigation, saying the group is a tool used to undermine Yemen’s sovereignty and stability, disrupt basic services, and obstruct the delivery of humanitarian assistance to those in need.

Reconstruction's economic recovery priorities discussed in workshop in Aden

A workshop held in Aden Sunday themed" Priorities of Reconstruction and Economic Recovery", organized by Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation.

The Head of EU Mission in Yemen Antonia Calvo and representatives of KSrelief Center, Emirati Red Crescent Society and donors contributed to the discussions.

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr Najib al-Aweg cited the urgent priorities of Reconstruction and Economic Recovery. He also pointed out to the major challenges facing the reconstruction and economic recovery campaign.

The minister stated that the country implicit economic losses estimated at $ 50 billion over the past four years, besides direct and indirect damages to infrastructure.

He indicated that there are urgent projects funded by the World Bank with total cost up to $ 1.2. There are also other projects funded by Islamic Bank, Saud Fund and Saudi Program totaling 600 billion Yemeni Rial (YR) .

The minister stated that poverty percentage raised up to 78%, while 60% of the population are struggling with poverty and starvation as a result of the devaluation of the national currency value and the citizen lost nearly two third of his income over the past three years.
