ADEN-SABA
Prime Minister Dr Ma'een Abdulmalik received on Thursday in the temporary capital Aden the U.S. Ambassador to Yemen Mathew Tuller along with the Assistant of U.S. Secretary of State for Middle East Timothy Linderking.
The meeting devoted to discuss the developments in Yemen and American efforts to reach a comprehensive peace in Yemen.
The Prime Minister welcomed the American Ambassador's first visit to the temporary capital Aden. He stated that the Yemeni government is looking forward to greater support and contribution by the US administration to the reconstruction campaign and development's efforts.
Dr Ma'een appreciated the American role in Yemen that helped along the Saudi-led Arab Coalition in preventing Yemen from falling down in to the Iranian influence sphere.
He said" We count much on the American's role in pressuring Iran to stop its destructive scheme and to stop supporting putschist Houuthi militia".
The Prime Minister reiterated the government's full support for every effort may help brining about peace and ending the Yemeni people suffering. He said" Dealing firmly with the reasons of the war triggered by the militia, putting down the coup and reinstating official institutions based on the agreed to terms of reference for political solution is the only single way to put an end of the conflict in Yemen.
For his part, the American Ambassador expressed his pleasure to visit Aden city, voicing concerns over the putschist militia's reluctance toward the implementation of Hodeida agreement under the UN-brokered consultations and agreement reached in Sweden.
Mr Tuller has made clear that Washington's interest is better served in maintaining Yemen as united and secure.
He said" Our meetings here with the Yemeni government in Aden intended to explore further cooperation in different fields, we're looking forward to see Yemen a sovereign, strong and prosperous country as this is in the American interests".
Deputy Prime Minister Salim Al-Khanbashi was in attendance.
