Yemen's Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalek praised the friendly Dutch support to political solution in Yemen.
In a meeting with the Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Sigrid Kaag in Geneva today, Abdulmalek appreciated the Dutch support to the government and the in the different international forums and support to the war affected Yemenis with humanitarian aid.
Abdulmalek briefed the Dutch official on the needs of Yemen on the humanitarian, reconstruction and economic growth levels and what help Yemen expects from the Netherlands to contribute.
Abdulmalek reiterated the government's interest in peace as shown from the participation in all UN offered peace talks and offering of concessions versus a stubborn Houthi rejection and avoidance of peace by various schemes including back-down from agreements already signed under UN supervision, as is the case with the latest "Stockholm" agreement.
The Dutch minister emphasized that Yemen and the Kingdom of the Netherlands are bound by a long rooted friendship.
She indicated that the Netherlands is following the events in Yemen insightfully.
She appreciated the government's efforts to re-normalize life in the territories regained from Houthi rebels and improving the economic and humanitarian conditions.
