ADEN-SABA
Minister of Local Administration—Chairman of High Relief Committee—Abduraqeeb Fatah called on the UN Under-Secretary General, Coordinator of Emergency Relief Affairs Mark Lowcock and International Security Council to take serious measures against Houthi militia's blocking access to the storages of the World Food Program (WFP) in Hodiedah, where the militiamen didn't allow the UN's relief agencies to reach the Red Sea Mills Silos for five months.
In statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) Fatah called on the international Community (IC) to explore urgent mechanisms to secure access to the warehouse of foods before spoilage.
The Chairman of High Relief Committee stated that issuing appeals for the militia to stop blocking access to the foods storages will never work. " Houthi militia has continued to loot relief aids, impede relief and humanitarian actions, sells aids stuff in black market in sight of the IC", said Fatah.
He added citing "the militiamen deliberately bombarded Red Sea Silos on January 5, 2018, destroying tens of thousands of WFP's storages, stormed the warehouse in September 2018 and arrested workers, fired mortar's rockets on one stores in April 2018, ruining 4 thousand tons of relief aids".
