The mine clearance arm of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) announced on Tuesday it had extracted '31,635 Houthi-laid landmines' in different parts ofYemen over the second half of 2018.
According to a newly released bulletin, the arm,known by its Arabic initials"MASAM", extracted 702 anti-personnel landmines, 18,895 anti-vehicle mines, 811 IEDs and 11145 UXOs.The landmines were extracted from public roads, houses and school campuses. They had been camouflaged by different shapes and paints.
Several women and children have lost their lives or their limbs as a result of such landmines.
