The World Food Program has threatened of suspending aid shipment to Yemen if Houthi militia does not stop looting and playing with food materials, warning that the suspension will affect 3 million people.
The Executive Director of World Food Program David Beasley sent a message to Houthi leader Abdulmalik al-Houthi warning him that the field survey made by the organization showed that 40 percent of aid did not go to needy beneficiaries in the capital Sana'a, which is under Houthi control.
"If you do not respond within 10 days, the World Food Program has no choice but to suspend the aid … go to the 3 million people," Associated Press quoted a message to Beasley.
"This conduct is criminal and must be immediately stopped," added the Executive Director of WFP.
Commenting on the message, the press agency said the WFP's warning was final and strong unprecedented one, pointing out the corruption increased hunger threat.
