Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Salem al-Khanbashi launched on Sunday here the First Female Summit organized by Wojoud Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation in cooperation with German Friedrich Ebert organization.
The two-day long summit is participated by 21 female active components, including Female Network for Peace, the Democratic Initiative for Aden Women, Southern Women Forum, Southern Females for Peace, Business Women Council and others.
Al-Khanbashi confirmed that the government supports this summit, which is the first of its type, calling for expanding the partnership circle to include all female factions in all provinces.
He valued the historical role of woman in Aden, the hotbed of the leading female work in which woman assumed a number of leading positions. He made it clear that women made 50 percent of the National Dialogue Conference's members.
The Head of Wojoud Foundation Maha Awadh and Director Program of Friedrich Ebert Mahmoud Qayyah delivered two speeches on significance of holding this summit, which has come in the framework of cooperation and coordination between all active female components and organizations.
The summit aims at empowering female movement and woman's role in national central issues; political and humanitarian, as well as improving coordination and cooperation of mass efforts in the framework of female movements.
It also aims at providing suggestions for facing challenges facing women, supporting female initiatives and visions in issues included in peace agreements for promoting peace and building the state.
