Vice President (Lt Gen) Ali Mohssen Saleh reiterated that legitimate government headed by President of the Republic is interested in establishing peace and Saudi-led Arab Coalition's leadership is keen on ensuring appropriate atmospheres so that UN-led consultations in Sweden can be successful.
(Lt Gen) Mohssen's statement came during his meeting Wednesday with General Inspector of Armed Forces Maj. General Adel Al-Qomairi, Head of Logistic Support Authority Mag. General Ahmed Al-Wali and Director of Combat Operation Directorate Mag. General Khaled Al-Ashwal.
The session devoted to discuss developments about military situations on the ground and the continuing military escalation by Iran-backed Houthi militia by carrying out offensive operations, firing projectiles, missiles and assaulting the civilians, a matter signaling to the ill-intentions the militia holds toward peace process and underway consultations.
General Al-Qomairi reported to the Vice President about the ongoing escalation by Houthi militia in different fronts, citing statistics about launching ballistic missiles and drones toward Marib, some government-held provinces and toward Kingdom of Saudi Arabi.
The Vice President stated that legal leadership headed by President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi has sincerely been seeking for fair peace based on the three terms of reference including the GCC's Initiative, its operational mechanism, outcome of National Dialogue and International Security Council resolution 2216.
